Watch it for a different feel

Leader- - it's Kammula's Leader

Rana is, doubtless, very good. He carries the role with a poise. The diction (somewhere close to Venkatesh's) and baritone are excellent. Expression-wise, he sets his own tone, without following a beaten track. Subba Raju, Kota, Suhasini and Harshwardhan fit their roles. Priya Anand is cute, while Richa is found wanted.

'Leader' Review: Idealistic Moview Rating:3

Leader marks what one can construe to be a departure from what director Sekhar Kammula is known for, till date. From ‘Anand', ‘Godavari' and ‘Happy Days' that were happy-go-lucky, the director has sought to showcase his dream of a ‘Leader' in what may well be seen as his ‘Utopia'.

The Hindu

Leader is a hard hitting film about the present state of politics and the wayward ways of the politicians.
Rana Daggubati performed very well in an author backed role and he does not make you feel that this is his debut movie. He is here to stay for a long time. Subbaraju excels as the bad politician. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ahuthi Prasad, Harshavardhan, Rao Ramesh and Tanikella Bharani live their roles. Richa Gangopadhyay does well in a nicely etched role. Priya Anand as the babbling reporter is good. Suman in a cameo is OK. Suhasini as the mother is very convincing. Uday Bhanu sizzles in the item number. All others are adequate in their roles.

Good For Class Audience

A must watch for many reasons. One for the sincere effort, second for RaNa's excellent debut and third for an emotional ride! This is one film you would keep discussing in your head for at least a week after you have seen it. It is intelligent and thought provoking. What else do you need in a film?
